History

In the mid-1990’s, community leaders identified a need for a coordinated approach to social services in order to effectively address Georgetown’s rapid growth and changing demographics. Seeking solutions, a group of powerful community health advocates garnered support for the Community Resource Center concept, through which multiple nonprofit organizations could be housed under one roof.

The Community Resource Center model benefits participating nonprofits, their clients, and the greater community by providing a space for improved communication, coordination, and collaboration between agencies therein, and facilitating community members’ ability to access participating nonprofits’ services.

The GCRC is located at 805 W. University Avenue in Georgetown.
