How to Apply

STEP ONE. Determine your eligibility

In order to be considered for Georgetown Health Foundation funding, applicants must:

  • Hold a current tax-exempt status as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization;
  • *Serve residents of greater Georgetown;
  • Align with the GHF mission to generate and accelerate positive change in our Community’s health;
  • Have the ability to produce measurable outcomes;
  • Ensure that proposal is congruent with GHF’s Strategic Priorities and serves our target population.

*Defining "Greater Georgetown". The Georgetown Health Foundation defines residents of greater Georgetown as community members residing within the following zip codes: 78626, 78627, 78628, 78633, 78673, 78674.

We do NOT fund:

  • Direct support of individuals
  • Clinical trials of drugs or devices
  • For-profit organizations
  • Programs that exclude participants on the basis of race, religion, or sexual orientation
  • Loans
  • Support of political agendas or candidates

STEP TWO. Establish organizational and programmatic alignment with GHF’s Strategic Priorities, which include:

  • Transportation
  • Affordability and availability of quality housing
  • Access to college readiness programs and post-secondary educations
  • Accessibility of daycare, afterschool programs, and play for children
  • Equitable access to healthy foods and nutrition education
  • Greater economic security
  • Access to affordable dental care & need for increased cultural competency among service providers
  • Availability and accessibility of quality mental health services
  • Acknowledge and reframe power differentials in social services, schools, and healthcare systems
  • Meaningful connection between leaders and policy makers with community

STEP THREE. Submit an electronic Letter of Intent (LOI) by the deadline

Georgetown Health Foundation’s Board of Directors and Staff have an ongoing obligation concerning confidential matters and are committed to conducting all business activities in an ethical fashion. We consider all materials submitted to us through our grantmaking processes as confidential, and pledge to organizations that seek our funding that their information will NOT be shared with any outside entity.

STEP FOUR. Notification/Invitation

Following review of the LOI, you will be notified via email regarding your status in the process.
