How to Apply

STEP ONE. Determine your eligibility

In order to be considered for Georgetown Health Foundation funding, applicants must:

  • Hold a current tax-exempt status as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization;
  • *Serve residents of greater Georgetown;
  • **Articulate a mission that aligns with the GHF mission;
  • Have the ability to produce measurable outcomes;
  • Implement programs congruent with GHF’s Healthy Living and Healthy Community strategic initiatives and priority areas.

*Defining “Greater Georgetown. The Georgetown Health Foundation defines residents of greater Georgetown as community members residing within the following zip codes: 78626, 78627, 78628, 78633, 78673, 78674.

**Mission. The Georgetown Health Foundation is committed to sustainable, collaborative community health promotion in Georgetown.

We do NOT fund:

  • Direct support of individuals
  • Clinical trials of drugs or devices
  • For-profit organizations
  • Programs that exclude participants on the basis of race, religion, or sexual orientation
  • Loans
  • Support of political agendas or candidates

STEP TWO. Establish your organization’s alignment with GHF’s Strategic Initiatives

Please review the Healthy Living and Health Community strategic initiatives below and note the priority areas within each. All applicants must be able to articulate clear intentions and workable strategies toward ameliorating these priorities.

  • Healthy Living
  • Focus on health care and health promotion for children, youth, elders, and families who are low-income and/or have significant need.

    • Support community access to affordable, quality health care.
    • Increase access to mental and behavioral health care.
    • Encourage health promotion programs.


  • Healthy Community
  • Focus on sustaining and strengthening safety net services for children, youth, elders, and families who are low-income and/or have significant need.

    • Sustain and enhance basic needs services, including:
      • Food Insecurity;
      • Emergency Financial Assistance;
      • Housing.
    • Support emergency shelter initiatives for youth.
    • Increase access to affordable, quality child care and out-of-school care.

STEP THREE. Submit an electronic Letter of Intent (LOI) by the deadline

Georgetown Health Foundation’s Board of Directors and Staff have an ongoing obligation concerning confidential matters and are committed to conducting all business activities in an ethical fashion. We consider all materials submitted to us through our grantmaking processes as confidential, and pledge to organizations that seek our funding that their information will NOT be shared with any outside entity.


STEP FOUR. Notification/Invitation

Following review of the LOI, you will be notified via email regarding your status in the process.
