In addition to her work with Georgetown Health Foundation, Dr. Brightwell also served on the Board of Habitat for Humanity of Williamson County, the St. David’s Georgetown Hospital Advisory Board and St David’s Community Health Foundation. She was Chair of the Steering Committee that created The Georgetown Project, Chair of the Board of the Georgetown Community Resource Center, and now a board member of the Habitat for Humanity of Williamson County and Senior University of Georgetown.
Dr. Brightwell’s past service includes Director of Volunteer Services and the Pastoral Care Program for Georgetown Healthcare System and Georgetown Hospital. She has more than 40 years of experience in counseling and guidance, including serving as a Principal of an educational organization n Houston and Dean for Student Development at Southwestern University in Georgetown. She was also instrumental in establishing the Georgetown Community Clinic (Lone Star Circle of Care).
Through her unwavering commitment to the Georgetown community, Dr. Brightwell has been honored with a number of recognitions and awards: Georgetown Chamber of Commerce, “Citizen of the Year,” Williamson County “Citizen of the Year,” Texas Hospital Trustees “Outstanding Board Member of the Year,” the Central Texas Conference Bishop’s Award for exemplary service in the field of ecumenism, and the Paul Harris Fellow from the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International. Dr. Brightwell has a Bachelor of Business of Administration, Masters in Education / Counseling and a Doctorate of Ministry.
