Chief Financial Officer
Karin Sladek is a Certified Public Accountant who was formerly the Accounting
Manager at Georgetown Independent School District. As
Accounting Manager, Karin helps oversee the day to day financial
operations of the District. She feels fulfilled by the fact that her
work (although behind the scenes) helps support an institution that
serves her community. Prior to joining GISD, Karin spent 11 years
working in public accounting at Deloitte and at Maxwell Locke &
Ritter in Austin. During her time in public accounting, Karin
performed audits and advised clients in various industries, including
manufacturing, wholesale/retail, biotechnology, non-profit and
government entities. Karin’s workplace passion is teaching and
communicating complex financial/accounting concepts in ways that
everyone can understand. She regularly volunteers to develop and
lead technical training courses for co-workers, clients, and others. Professional organizations and
community involvement include: American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Texas Society of
Certified Public Accountants, Georgetown Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors (Chair-Elect,
Treasurer), Georgetown Police Department Chase the Chief 5K Board of Directors (Treasurer),
Immanuel Lutheran Church Finance Committee and Sustainable Food Center Finance Committee.
Karin enjoys Aggie sports, a good workout, any and all cats, and “talking” with her 11 month old.
