Andrew F. Davis
Vice President of Education and Capacity Building | Spending most of his life serving nonprofit organizations, Andy brings over 25 Years of sector experience to Georgetown Health Foundation. Before becoming an independent consultant, Andy spent 15 years at BoardSource, the premier organization focused on nonprofit governance, most recently as the Associate Vice President of Education and Outreach.
At GHF, Andy will engage with stakeholders from Georgetown and Williamson County to help create and devise educational opportunities to support the nonprofit sector and larger community. Andy will also assist in building and supporting networks that will assist Georgetown Health Foundation in its efforts to best understand where GHF resources and support can have the greatest impact. Andy is a regular speaker and presenter on a wide range of board leadership topics. While at BoardSource, Andy played a key role in the creation and development of the frameworks of Purpose Driven Board Leadership as well as Measuring Fundraising Effectiveness. Andy also created and co-led the Certificate of Nonprofit Board Consulting course, which has trained over 1,000 nonprofit consultants across the country.
Andy currently serves as the Board Chair of Our Minds Matter in Washington, DC, and previously served as the chair for the national advisory council of AmeriCorps Alums, as well as being a charter member of the Center for Nonprofit Advancement’s Board Leadership Awards. Andy holds a master’s degree in public administration with a concentration in nonprofit management from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. Previously, Andy served as the professional development coordinator for Quality Enhancement for Nonprofit Organizations (QENO) in Wilmington, NC.
John Martinez
Property Management Coordinator | John Martinez is a Property Management Professional with over 16 years of experience in the Multifamily Property Management industry. Throughout his career, John has worked for top leading management companies such as Greystar Real Estate Partners, FPI Management, and Avenue5 Residential where he has managed over 4,000 total units. He has successfully overseen portfolios in both Southern California and Texas, demonstrating his expertise in managing diverse and dynamic markets. His leadership and strategic insight have consistently contributed to the growth and efficiency of the properties under his care.
John moved from Southern California and planted his roots in city of Georgetown in 2017, with his wife Kate and his two children, Madison and Jeremiah. John has also been an active member of Celebration Church since 2017, where he serves passionately on their Student’s Team as their Small Group Hub Coordinator.
Karin Sladek
Chief Financial Officer
Karin Sladek is a Certified Public Accountant who spent 11 years working as an auditor for Deloitte and Maxwell Locke & Ritter. During her time in public accounting, Karin worked with companies of varying sizes and industries and enjoyed learning how different businesses operate and what made them successful. She brings this breadth of knowledge to her work at Georgetown Health Foundation. After having a baby in 2020, Karin spent 2 years working as the Accounting Manager for Georgetown ISD during which time she served on the board of directors for Georgetown Health Foundation. Karin enjoyed the people and the work of the Foundation so much that she joined the staff in 2023. Karin lives in Georgetown with her husband Kelby and son Emmett.
Kathi Ray
Director of Mission and Commercial Property Management
Kathi Ray joined Georgetown Health Foundation in 2020. She manages operations at the Carver Center for Families, GHF’s newly formed family resource center, assists with development and implementation of philanthropic operations, is a liaison with local nonprofits and GHF grant partners, and works with the Foundation’s other mission-based properties.
Prior to GHF, Kathi was with the City of Georgetown in both the Utility and Fire Departments. She spent the previous 15 years at Southwestern University, in the Student Life Office as the Executive Administrative Assistant for the Vice President and the Student Life Division and in the Provost’s Office. She also served as Chair of the Staff Affairs Council. Her background includes operations management, real estate, and small business owner. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in History from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.
Kenneth W. Poteete
President Emeritus
Kenneth Poteete has more than thirty-five years’ experience in health care administration. He has served as CEO of Georgetown Hospital, and Georgetown Healthcare System. Currently, he is President Emeritus of Georgetown Health Foundation.
He has served the Texas Hospital Association (THA) in many capacities including: Chair of the Board of Trustees, Chair of Texas Hospital Insurance Exchange, member of the THA President’s Roundtable, and member of the House of Delegates for THA.
Mr. Poteete is a longtime member of the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Georgetown Rotary Club. He has worked with Georgetown Partners in Education, Williamson County Children’s Advocacy Center, Georgetown Ministerial Alliance, Lone Star Circle of Care, Georgetown Industrial Foundation, and the Georgetown Community Resource Center.
He has received numerous accolades, including “Georgetown Citizen of the Year” and the “Earl Collier Award” which is the highest honor awarded to hospital Administrators by the Texas Hospital Association. Currently, he serves on the Board of The Georgetown Project and serves on the Board of Visitors for Southwestern University in Georgetown.
Linda Owen
Director of Administration
Linda Owen has worked or been associated in the healthcare field for over 30 years both in West and Central Texas; most recently in Georgetown. She is currently the Director of Administration at Georgetown Health Foundation, working closely with the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Strategic Philanthropy. Her past work includes the Executive Assistant to the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Medical Officer and Chief Financial Officer of St. David’s Georgetown Hospital, the President of Austin Regional Clinic and the Chief Operating Officer of Covenant Health System (formerly Methodist Hospital, Lubbock, Texas). She also held the position of Product Development Coordinator at FirstCare, a health insurance company, and has 15 years of banking experience having been promoted to the position of Banking Officer.
Linda has worked with several charitable organizations and participated in many events and currently volunteers with the Georgetown Area Junior Forum.
Linda has been selected to participate in various employer pilot projects, has received certificates of recognition and is honored to be recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow.
Linda is married with 2 children, 2 step-sons and 4 grandchildren. She is an active member of the Hill Country Bible Church in Georgetown.
Scott Alarcón
Chief Executive Officer
Scott Alarcón began his career with Georgetown Hospital in 1999. He then held several progressively responsible management roles culminating with his promotion to Chief Operating Officer of Georgetown Hospital in early 2006. He then transitioned to the Georgetown Health Foundation in late 2007 as its Chief Operating Officer and became the foundation’s Chief Executive Officer in 2009. A lifelong Williamson County resident, Alarcón received his Bachelor of Business Administration from Baylor University and a Masters in Health Services Management from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. He also holds the designation of Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives and is a BoardSource Certified Governance Trainer.
He has served in a number of leadership positions for local civic organizations and has been instrumental in the expansion and implementation of innovative projects in support of health care and education throughout Central Texas. Currently, he is a member of the St. David’s HealthCare Board of Governors, Chair of the American Council on Exercise Board of Directors, Treasurer of the Board for Lone Star Circle of Care, Children at Heart Ministries Board Member and Member of the Austin Area Research Organization. Alarcón has also previously served as a three-term Trustee for the Georgetown Independent School District Board of Trustees and Board President for five years, a past member of the Executive Committee for The Georgetown Caring Place Board of Directors, past Member of the Executive Committee for The Boys and Girls Club of Georgetown Board of Directors, Past President of the Central Texas Chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives and past STARRY Board Member.
He is a long-time supporter of the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and served as its Chairman of the Board in 2006. Additionally, he has participated on the Texas Hospital Association’s Council on Policy Development and its Leadership Development Council.
In 2005, Alarcón was recognized with the Lone Star Regent’s Early Careerist Award by the American College of Healthcare Executives. In 2006, he received the Healthcare Cornerstone Award from the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and in 2012 he was recognized with the Distinguished Service Award from the American College of Healthcare Executives. In 2013, he was named the Citizen of the Year by the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce.
Scott and his wife Gretchen reside in Georgetown and are the parents to Greyson, Landon, Trevor and Kaden. They are actively involved at Celebration Church in Georgetown.
